Villa Magarita

Reviews

"Wow, this place is amazing, the views, the decor, the owners, its all just the greatest. We were there for a friends wedding on Monday night and just thought that this place is outstanding. Whether is be a team building event, romantic holiday or just a break from your normal life this is the place to go. I am in hospitality and don't normally rant about other peoples places but can not fault Villa Margaritas. Well done guys, we definitely look forward to coming again." March 2009

"The Villa was awesome and gave us everything we wanted. Its the perfect tranquil setting to relax and enjoy each others company, and in addition to that, Mark and Margaritas hospitality made us feel completely at home with them as well. We had our space and time to ourselves as well as their fantastic hospitality if we wanted to socialise! We have been back three times and am certain we will be back many times again." June 2010

"This was our second visit to Villa Margarita just outside Wellington NZ. We were so taken with our hosts, Mark and Margarita, that we decided to visit again on our second trip to New Zealand.... and using the word "visit" instead of "stay" sums up our feeling about the place...The hilltop villa is high end, beautifully decorated, and very private but getting to know our hosts makes us feel we have friends in NZ. A great way to begin our vacation...thanks, Mark & Margarita!" December 2009

"A beautiful setting, some 20 minutes outside the vibrant city of Wellington. The accommodation is high quality, the hosts (Mark and Margarita) were generous with their time and the breakfasts second to none. For a place to rest, to use as a base to visit the area and to engage with the New Zealand culture, you could not do better." Febuary 2009

"We have traveled extensively prior to and after this visit and have never been greeted with such energy and enthusiasm by our hosts. Mark & Margarita Owen run the place and were good enough to pour us a welcoming namesake drink upon “check in”. We were treated as members of their family and quickly became acquainted with both of them as well as other friends and family members. It is no exaggeration to say that when we left we felt like we had made friends with them all. If you like mixing with people and are interested in seeing a unique New Zealand lifestyle, this place is a must. If you want to keep to yourselves and have more privacy, I am sure that would have worked as well here. For us, we mixed it up with them and enjoyed every moment." June 2007

"As the only luxury boutique accommodation with Cuban influence in Wellington, it already holds a unique position. We lunched in surely one of Wellington’s most outstanding dining rooms. Sitting in luxury under dazzling silver candelabras lit with dozens of candles, even in daylight hours, we dined like movie stars. These people know how to entertain! Well, an afternoon isn’t enough for us. We’re having a night there soon. This is Wellington at its glamorous best. Weddings, honeymoons, luxury weekends, corporate outdoor events, lunches or dinners – Mark and Margarita Owen are the consummate hosts for any event. What a blast!" Jennifer Looman, Director of Wild About Wellington

"The setting here is very California, modern paintings adorn the walls and all of the fixtures and appointments are first class. They have been entertaining many corporate executives here and earned the Qualmark five stars." Max Hartshorne
